The Society usually meets on the 4th Friday of each month. Meetings start at 7:30 pm, but members usually start arriving at around 7:00 pm. Guests are always welcome.
Meetings usually include a talk about some aspect of orchid culture, but sometimes there are special events such as auctions, guest speakers, and potting demonstrations. There is an in-house competition each month, where members show off orchids in flower. There are also raffles, door prizes, and ample opportunity to talk about growing orchids.
We run a sales table at monthly meetings, where orchid pots, fertilisers, potting mix, orchid plants, etc, can be purchased at very competitive prices. The Society has an extensive Library of orchid books that can be borrowed by members.
The Society also organises social activities such as home visits and field trips for members and guests.
